The programme is designed to provide children and young people who receive benefit-related free school meals with free fun activities across the school holidays. There are also a limited number of places made available to children and young people with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We would like as many families getting involved in HAF, and due to the demand for places, children and young people are able to attend 4 HAF activities for free at Easter, 16 sessions throughout the summer holidays and a further 4 activities at Christmas, with places allocated on a first-come, first served basis.

On this site you will be able to see all the HAF programmes on offer and be able to book upto 16 funded places over the summer holidays. New activities to HAF this summer include canoeing, gaming, DJ workshops, trampolining and parkour, plus programmes just for our young people

More providers will be awarded a grant to deliver activities in the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays too.

There are over 9000 children and young people in the East Riding who are in receipt of free school meals, and with rising food, living and fuel costs, HAF enables families to enjoy a healthy meal and enriching activities during the holidays.
The Department for Education commission the HAF scheme and local authorities have funding until Dec 2024.
